Trump just posted about something akin to this. He is probably and wisely looking at decreasing certain labels and giving Americans choice though I can't say for certain.

An experimental cannabis extract reduced low back pain in a randomized, placebo-controlled trial in Europe, and Canadian doctors say it's the type of well-designed study they'll need to guide patients seeking safer medication options.

In Monday's issue of the journal Nature Medicine, a clinical trial of 820 adults with chronic low back pain showed a cannabis extract in sesame oil called VER-01 offered more relief of pain intensity compared to those who received a placebo.

Low back pain is a common ailment, often stemming from muscle and joint injuries resulting from lifting and twisting. When the pain lasts for more than three months, doctors consider it chronic.

Chronic back pain is treated with a combination of education, medication and rehabilitation like physiotherapy exercises, pain clinicians say.

Can't imagine the MAGA base being happy about cannabis being legalized, can you?

Why would anyone care? Are they demanding alcohol be banned or pharmaceuticals?

The war on drugs in America began in the 1980s, long prison sentences, millions of lives lost and hundreds of billions, perhaps trillions gone.

Is the problem better or worse in America?

Fentanyl and heavy poisons are a far different matter. 20% Of older citizens use these oils I believe, and those are U.S stats from a video Trump posted so I have to assume it is much higher in Canada.

When I walk by these stores in Canada since it has been legalized, I was shocked to see that most people who enter or leave these stores are senior citizens, by some margin I'd say.

Are you going to punish people for trying to find ways to decrease their pain? It makes no bloody sense. Ban Tylenol then.

I don't touch the stuff but I believe "to each their own". Maybe as I get older I will want the option, right?

Yeah, why would anyone care?

Why would people who shout out "less government, smaller government" and "we should be free to decide what we want to do, we don't need the government to do it for us" suddenly decide that people can't use pot or pot based products? Or gay marriage? Or a whole host of things the smaller government Republicans decide they need to control?

Indeed.

These aren't questions for me though. I think the ideology of "big government" is only for a small portion of the older voters. The future of the GOP is libertarianism.

It will be a stark contrast between that and socialism which the Dems will have to embrace starting with New York.

Will Trump be able to make the counter-argument? It is going to require action not just words.

Essentially the Reps and Dems stand for nothing. They'll say things to keep their core voters happy, but when it comes to it, they only care about money and power.

Well, I hope not. This would be devestating for America and Western liberty.

Tylenol 3 is a farce. Does nothing but that's about all ya can get after surgery in MN. Busted up my hand once. Had to have a few pins put in. Stayed the night at the hospital and they ran a pain test. First they gave ya dilaudid in a drip, fantastic stuff. Next they tried Percocet, that worked well. Then ya got Tylenol3 which did nothing. Guess which 1 they sent me home with. After three days I was ready to rip that cast off so I called to get something stronger. She asked if I was taking my other meds which I was. She said those boost the Tylenol. I told her I had looked each drug up and nowhere does it say it boosts anything under usage. Bang down went the phone. Thanks libs

i have gotten high with people that were pretty conservative...
It's odd in that people claim libertarians are the "far right", meanwhile they just want liberry for all. There is nothing fsr right about common sense in support of freedom. My avatar says it best,.direct from Reagans mouth. By the end of his term he knew his war on drugs had backfired and cost his nation alot.

Take a look around you, and see how devastating it already is.
I have faith in Trump and his team. What choice do we have?

Sometimes when a man reaches the apex of his life he decides "f it, I'm doing it my way". The guy is so unpredictable that tomorrow he could literally offer a million citizenships to desperate Canadians lol.

Say what you want about him but he makes politics exciting. No way in hell the world cares about politics to the extent they do today if not for Trump.

I think it's best when politics play a much smaller role. Leave people alone.

Er... not have faith in him, because he's shown he's not worth any faith, and then attack him mercilessly because he's a greedy, selfish bastard?

Great, he's entertaining. Not great for the US or the world though, is it?

This is probably nonsense ( a false signal mistaken for a weak signal), if history is any indication. The joke among the science community is, "What DOESNT improve lower back pain?".

I would reserve judgment until a lot more studies are done.

Why? I know it helps with chronic pain, I'm all for it.

Because a lot of conservatives have decided that pot is bad. It's illegal, so it must be bad, so it must be banned.

It's that "we're for smaller government, but we don't like this, so we're going to take it away from you"

Blue is legal for recreational use.

Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, Washington.

7 of these states voted for Trump in 2024, 17 voted for Harris.

Of these, Michigan voted less than 50% for Trump, Nevada voted 50.57%, Arizona 52.22%, Alaska 54.54%, Ohio 55.14%.

Missouri was the highest state to vote for Trump in that list, it was 17th biggest percentage for Trump.

The top state for Trump was Wyoming. Pot is illegal you can have CBD oil

It's very much a thing Republicans think should be illegal, but I think that is changing. I was surprised Montana was there.

Small government advocates might be seeing that stopping people having pot is BIG government.
