An an observer of the situation in the ME it is this type of article that really strikes a chord with me...

As I have stated before, the only thing I want is peace.

I don't want the destruction of Israel. It's there, leave it there.

I am not anti Jew... I have many Jewish friends...

I am anti Zionist... The extreme right wing Zionist ideals, Netanyahu's policies...

The way that the Zionists act with perceived impunity, I believe, is the greatest danger to Israel.

Its very simple, peace or any kind of positive agreement has to be mutual, at this point we ask ourselves who is there to make peace with?
Fatah/Abbas? No.
Hamas? No.
Catch 22 for the sane Palestinians? Yes.

I agree Daniyel....

But you missed someone from your list...

Netanyahu? No.

I believe he is a greater direct threat to Israel than Hamas!

You believe, but you have no idea how much Netanyahu sacrificed for the state of Israel, the common opinion now is that we won't spend our time and blood for peace while the Palestinians don't even bother to consider it and tryin to milk more and more cards to get better deal - to the moments we won't have a way out, so even if we find peace - it won't be so ideal because we have zero faith in the Palestinians, better look up for the state of Israel and for that - Netanyahu proved to be strong and solid choice, uniting the people while serving the nation's interests, the Palestinian conflict is yet a minor problem since we know the solution is nearly impossible unless Israel will implement it by itself - one sided solution - and that works best for Israel (and the sane Palestinians by the way) - Israel is established upon Zionism, choosing less than a Zionist (for e.x. Left to far Left and I'm not talking about the radicalized Left) is not only a road to the destruction of Israel, but also to any further solution with the Palestinians, nevertheless with the Israelis.

Yes, I do believe...

I believe that Netanyahu's extreme right wing policies are the biggest problem for Israel right now.

Of course, I would not expect you to agree, but to me his extremist views are no better than those of Hamas... Neither one is right!

His nationalistic, expansionist ideas are not simply against the Palestinians. They are against the will of the international community.

I'm not so sure that Netanyahu is "uniting the people" right now Daniyel.

It appears that his latest Zionist bill, even 'watered down', is dividing the country...

I don't think it is so much about "Who" but "What"....

Neither Israel NOR the Palestinians need an 'extremist' ideology at the helm!

As far as 'peace' goes there can be no 'change' whilst these two extremes continue.

Unfortunately, right now, I don't see 'change' happening....

The longer that the 'status quo' remains the further away any opportunity for peace becomes.

Starting loving palistanians more, than hating jews, can help, of course.

Another 'clever' post when you have no contribution whatsoever to make to the OP...

Netanyahu has made it quite clear that he would never allow the creation of a sovereign Palestinian state. It really is absurd for the Palestinians to keep insisting and the Europeans recognizing. The Israeli Jews do not want a Palestinian state and prefer continued Apartheid for the people of the West Bank and Gaza.

"At his Friday press conference, the prime minister ruled out full Palestinian sovereignty, derided the US approach to Israeli security, and set out his Middle East overview with unprecedented candor. His remarks were not widely reported; they should be

I don't think this comes as much of a surprise really...

It's the ONLY way that Netanyahu can go...

His path is already laid out... Extreme right wing...

Not a good path to be on, ESPECIALLY for Israel!

Yeah so? He's against a Palestinian state that never existed. Does the world really need another Islamic shithole of violence, intolerance, and terror run by IslamoNazi Palestinians?

So what about the ultra extremist right wing policies of the Palestinians that demand nothing less than the complete and utter destruction of Israel and the genocide of every Jew. Don't you think that those have a bigger impact on the problems facing Israel that has to be on constant alert for any attacks.

Problem is the Palestinians by their very nature, creed, culture and religion are ultra extreme and will never live in peace with anyone unless they show them they are boss. The only language they understand is violence, and that is the only thing they respect. That is why they no longer try it on with Jordan or Lebanon because they showed them they were stronger and meaner than the Palestinians could ever be.
What cant happen is for an Israeli leader to give in to Palestinian demands and turn Israel over to Arabism and even more attacks. This was shown when Israel gave in to P.A. pressure and handed them gaza on a plate, the Palestinians saw that as a weakness and made a play for dominance. Now Israel should be looking for any outward signs of weakness in Palestine and working on it in the media. Use propaganda and human feelings to destroy the sympathy vote for hamas and fatah

Netanyahu must stop placating endless Palestinian demands. He should help free the Palestinians from their misery in Israel by negoriating with Arab countries to grant them a right of return back to their homelands where they can have their own Palestinian State with self determination & not be able to suck off of Israel anymore to provide for them.
