You always hear that Bill Gates or whatever celebrity donated like a quadrillion billion dollars to help people in need in Africa or whatever, and I think it's totally bogus. Consider first how far away Africa is, and how notorious it is for corruption. It would be the perfect place to launder money. If they said they donated the money to charities here in America, that would be easier for the IRS and general public to scrutinize. That's another thought, why bother donating money to some place across the ocean when so many people in the US are struggling? Odd choice, right? But it makes more sense when you take into account the lack of transparency. I'd also like to add that presumably these mega wealthy types also get enormous tax refunds for these donations. It goes without saying that the operating costs of these organizations openly soak up much of the donated money. After all, getting paid is what volunteering is all about, right? And then finally, I'd like everyone to consider a few things. Do you know anyone who's seen a cent of this money? Do you even know anyone who knows someone who's seen a cent of it? I doubt it. They say they invest it in communities, but usually all they have to show for it are supposed schoolhouses built out of cinder blocks and corrugated metal with a few 90s laptops. Certainly doesn't account for the millions of dollars supposedly donated. Anyway, thanks for reading my conspiracy.
