Last week, “Joker” director Todd Phillips told The Wrap that the bulk of the film’s criticism has come from the far-left, which he said has hijacked the conversation to “suit their agenda.”

Bill Maher Blasts Cancel Culture: ‘P.C. People Protect Feelings’

Maher said the politically correct are products of a coddled generation who want only to protect their sensibilities, but who unfortunately control the media far too often.

“The people on Twitter are the people who control the media a lot,” Maher said. “They’re the millennials who probably grew up with helicopter parents who afforded them a sense of entitlement. They are certainly more fragile than previous generations. Trigger warnings. Safe spaces. Crying rooms. Microaggressions. That crowd feels like anything that upsets their tender sensibilities is completely out of line.”

Maher went on to say that Democrats have no choice but to eliminate this radical fringe from its party if they want to have a chance at winning the 2020 election.
