about 10 years since Augustine my pure champion line flame himalayan had to be put to sleep, he was the most mellow cat with ice blue eyes. I could put him on my lap and rub his belly and he would practically pass out.
grew up with them, my mom's favorite, I was just a kid with a flame and two seal points, later on I had to get one for myself
absolutely loved water, he would actually lay in my sink waiting for me to give him water or he would be behind my shower curtain waiting

I have, over 10 years ago, just going through some pictures and thought I'd share a very pretty cat

It is a pretty cat. Really rich coat of fur! Just that I have my own old memories I'd rather not stir up. I found that it takes 1-2 years to really get over it, much longer at a subtler level, but it is much better to move on towards the future than to dwell on what has been.

maybe but missing what you had and won't have again, it's nice to reflect. every cat is unique in their own way, you can't just replicate it or hope a new kitten will be a replica, it's not how it works. this is the reason the camera was invented, to take pictures of places, people, pets so you can remember

Why should it? You have to have HAD something first before you can miss it, and I'd rather have had something special to miss than to have nothing special to miss at all. It gives reflection on one's own life. The essential element in life is change, so there is nothing wrong. It is a reason for joy that you had that than sorrow because what was supposed to be, was, and not only were they lucky as shit to have had you, but you have the opportunity now to have another, and each is always special and different.

basically, each cat or dog is unique just like people. genetics, upbringing plays a huge part. I've had a cat or two in the house since I can walk, I never had cats actually attack each other and draw blood, they were unique but knew their place, did not get territorial and they basically got along even if they were not best buddies
