A Minneapolis man found what he said was an unwelcome surprise in his recent Amazon order: a loaded handgun.

Travis Meier had ordered a hydration vest designed for carrying water on long-distance runs or bike rides. He found a white sealed plastic Amazon package on his doorstep on Feb. 12.

It was the vest he’d ordered, but Meier said it felt heavier than he’d expected. So he checked the pockets. Inside was a holstered handgun — a Ruger LCP 380.

LOL....NPR acts as if that's a bad thing!

I suspect someone returned a vest after using it (and carrying) but forgot to remove the gun and it got resold as new inventory once returned.....Or something like that.

I'd prefer a byf 42 "Black Widow" Luger but beggars can't be choosers. ;)

Years ago I had was on a business trip to Indianapolis, where I rented a car. From there I drove the car down to Louisville where I turned it in at that airport. Just after my flight arrived back in Charlotte, where I was living at the time, my phone rang and it was the Louisville PD. They asked me if I had left anything behind in the car. I looked around and was pretty sure I had everything. They had recovered a gun in the driver's seat back pocket. :D

I told him that if they find anyone in the river it wasn't me.

You're probably right. I think I'd have to contact the police in case the gun was involved in some crime or was sought as police evidence in an investigation, lest I not somehow get accused of being involved.

Me, I'd then call Amazon too and tell them next time to try to send me a Heckler + Koch MR762 A4 13″ SBR.

That's the dream right there.

I'm sure since he's a "man" living in Minneapolis, his vagina went dry the second he saw the gun.

Right here is the reason why every car should be inspected before it gets assigned to the next person and not just for things like a gun, drugs, etc., but making sure that the vehicle is still running the way that it should be running should also be done as well.

God bless you always!!!

I never have that kind of luck. Why didn't he take it out in his back yard and do some plinkin?
