A cop-killer who shot his victim nine times before setting him on fire will be executed tonight.

Mikal Mahdi, 42, is to be executed at 6pm (10pm UK time) at a prison in Columbia, South Carolina, for the murder of 56-year-old police captain James Myers.

Myers was shot nine times after he found Mahdi hiding in a shed on his property. Mahdi then set his body set on fire.

Mahdi also pleaded guilty to murdering a convenience store clerk three days before he killed Myers.

South Carolina gives Death Row inmates a choice between lethal injection, the electric chair or the firing squad.

Mahdi chose the firing squad, which is an uncommon choice and will be just the fifth time a prisoner has been executed by firing squad in the US since 1976, with the other four happening in Utah.

Comment:
The firing squad seems like a tough way to go.
He should have chosen a lethal injection of fentanyl, because that's what killed George Floyd.
We know that it works.

Although I am ambivalent (at best) about the death penalty, I still endorse it for certain cases.

This mutt qualifies.

I volunteer to be one of the shooters.

Meh. I'm normally against the death penalty due to the chance of killing an innocent person. This guy is guilty. I don't care.

I think public long-drop hanging is more of a deterrent.

Someday we can just vaporize convicted criminals with lasers.
Now you all have something to look forward to.
You are welcome.

They should get Deriek Chauvin to kneel on his neck.. We know it works

FACT
The coroner testified that Chauvin did not harm Floyd, and that Floyd had a lethal dose of fentanyl in his system.
It was an unjust conviction.
Bovine excrement , Bud

Dr. Andrew Baker, Hennepin County's chief medical examiner, said Floyd died after police "subdual, restraint and neck compression" caused his heart and lungs to stop. He said heart disease and drug use were factors but not the "top line" causes. He said Floyd had an enlarged heart that needed more oxygen than normal, as well as narrowed arteries.

There were two different medical examiner testimonies.
Chauvin's conviction has a lot of major holes in it.
It was a politically motivated conviction.
The despicable racist Democrats exploited the case to agitate the dumb Democrat voters for the 2020 election.
Chauvin did not compress Floyd's windpipe.
The windpipe is on the front of the neck, and not the back of the neck.
If his windpipe was cutoff, he would not be able speak, and Floyd was able to speak.
Dr. Andrew Baker, the Hennepin County Medical Examiner testified that Floyd had 11 ng/mL of fentanyl in his system.
That is more than enough fentanyl to kill a person

Out of context . Baker is the same doctor that I quoted but you conveniently left out the what really matters

Once again:

"Dr. Andrew Baker, Hennepin County's chief medical examiner, said Floyd died after police "subdual, restraint and neck compression" caused his heart and lungs to stop. It's your bullshit that is politically motivated . Specifically racially motivated .
