Mayor Mamdani New York's Red Mayor is failing at his core job:

Keeping NYC functioning

3 Feb 2026 ~~

The No. 1 job of a mayor, above everything else, is to keep his or her city functioning.
Yet with people dying on the cold streets of New York and trash building up in parts of the city, New York is by no means functioning. Not even close.
The snow and frigid temps have tested Gotham’s socialist Mayor Zohran Mamdani and, alas, he has not risen to the occasion. Rather, he’s left the city a mess.
Everest-size mountains of garbage have popped up. Unremoved snow, ice and road salt have damaged Con Edison electrical equipment, contributing to power outages.
Most horrifically, 16 people have died on the street — 13 from hypothermia.
Chalk that up to a perverse ideology on the homeless or simple mismanagement, but either way, it represents tragic, unforgivable failure.
There’s more: Mamdani’s Upper East Side neighbors were beyond livid that his Gracie Mansion home was somehow trash-free while snowy, 8-foot garbage heaps went untouched on their streets.
Across the five boroughs, sidewalk curb cuts are only now getting cleared, more than a week after a major snowfall.
Failure to remove melting snow from atop Con Ed equipment is likely one reason 1,900 Park Slope residents have been without power.

Yes, Mamdani has still 1,428 days to get his act together and prove he can keep the city functioning.
But here’s some free advice: New Yorkers are renowned for their lack of patience. Better get moving.

Commentary:
Did anyone expect anything less? Mamdani never ran a brothel let alone a lemonade stand. He put people in charge of NY City that are Democrat Socialist Communist idealists. So what caused this mess? For all their bluster about being ready for the Snow Storm.
They didn’t have a clue on what to do. First the snow hit. Rather than let the Director of Sanitation do his job. Mamdani allowed his chosen local politicians decide what streets to clear, except for Manhattan because they wanted to make it look like Mamdani knew what he was doing. They didn’t realize that they had no place to dispose of the snow. The streets to the waste disposal facilities are still underivable so even if they could collect the garbage they couldn’t get to the facilities to dispose of the garbage in the garbage trucks. To add to the problem Mandani is probably not authorizing overtime to expedite the snow removal and garbage pickup. He probably doesn’t have the money to pay the overtime nor does he or any of senior executives in his administration have a clue on how to finance the money necessary to pay for the overtime.
I'm surprised that the transit subway system didn't also break down.

Mamdani is too busy trying to cover up his Epstein affiliations to be bothered

NEW YORK HAS

EVER FUNCTIONED?!
<~~~~~~~~~~>
Lived under La Guardia and remember the streets were cleaner transit ran on time and crime ws just as high in NYC as it was n Chicago.
IMHO, it was a lot better when Rudy was Mayor. He did clean up the city, lowered crime and showed great leadership during 9/11.
Assessing Rudy Giuliani as the "best" mayor of New York City is a matter of debate, with his legacy defined by a dramatic reduction in crime and a polarizing personal style. While often ranked alongside giants like Fiorello La Guardia,
He turned a $2.3 billion budget deficit into a $2.9 billion surplus and significantly reduced the city's welfare rolls. His efforts were central to the revitalization of Times Square.

I was just thinking the same thing and hearkening back to when Seinfeld was eating his fat free yogurt how carefree NYC was, and now here we are, and it is as if no one notices the differences and asks, why are we doing this now when we had it so much better the other way?

Yet somehow, they still keep electing democrats.

You lived under La Guardia?? Wasn’t he from the 30s and 40s?

Mamdani’s Paradise: Thug Steals Car with Elderly Blind Man Inside, Dumps Him Miles Away from Man’s Terrified Wife

Weird story gets weirder the more you look into it?

And the vicious thug gets released back onto the streets.

Mondomi’s goal is clear: He is part of the Islamic plan to destroy America. And now they have control of America’s largest city.

He's an amateur
you don't go from working at costco to an engineer at tesla

you are bound to fail

but why is it all him? nobody else can do anything?

large cities needs much more than just one person in power to run

It's already apparent that his choices in appointees are not capable of doing their jobs. Even working at Costco would have given him some smarts in choosing the people he points.

You are assuming he is failing because you assume that his goal is to make the city and its people prosper. Now, take the point of view that his mission is to create a dependent and city ripe for takeover by a mullah and then decide if it a failure or not.
