Mauser and Heckler & Koch

Are these German names still seen as a sign of good quality?

I am asking as I am German ...

Germans have always made decent guns. Mauser, H&K, J.P. Sauer, Anschutz, Walther, Brenneke, Heym, Krieghoff, Merkel, Spandau, DWM, Erma, Krupp...

Stay away from anything made by Röhm, though. Especially those RG10 pistols. They were one of the the worst pieces of crap ever made, especially after they moved their factory to Florida in 1969.

Mauser certainly is

My favorite are rifles made before and shortly after 1900

The Model 98 is still as good as any modern rifle made anywhere on the world

The craftsmen who did that work with nothing but simple tools were master artisans
