Does anyone who is familiar with Maundy Thursday, the day during Holy Week which commemorates the last supper of the Messiah with the apostles know which part of Thursday that this took place - during the night time of the first half of Thursday, or during the daytime of the second half of Thursday?

Wasn’t that a Passover Seder? It would have been in the evening.

So, you're saying it was during the first half of Thursday.
No, if Passover started on Thursday evening, it would have been held on Thursday evening. Seders are always held in the evening.

By evening, do you mean night time?

After sunset.

In the Jewish religion, the “day” starts the evening before, upon sunset. So if the first day of Passover is, say, April 13, the first Seder would be April 12, as soon as it gets dark.

No, the evening of Thursday, around 8 pm, assuming Friday was the first day of Passover.
The first half of Thursday is night time which includes "around 8 pm".

and the evening and the morning were the first day.

What is your point with regard to the OP?
My point is that from the beginning didn't they have the day start with the evening and then end before the next evening? Is this what is causing some of the confusion in the thread?

I don’t see what the confusion is. Jews, which included Jesus, consider a day from one evening at sunset to the next evening, after sunset.

Yes, if by evening you mean night time, i.e., the first half of a calendar day.

The only other person replying is Lisa558 and she seems to be agreeing with a sunset-to-sunset calendar day. She must be confused with regard to something else.

I’m not confused. The question was when the Last Supper took place, and since the Last Supper was the Passover Seder, it would have taken place shortly after sunset.

Not according to Judaism. The problem is you are trying to gel the Gregorian “day” with the Jewish day.

Let’s say Passover starts on Friday (in a Gregorian calendar.) That means it will start on Thursday evening around 8 pm, because that is when the Jewish day starts.

Just the opposite. I have always used the sunset to sunset calendar day when discussing Biblical issues.

Let's not. Why are you confusing the issue by bringing in the Gregorian calendar?
