CLEVELAND — The man charged with shooting a Cleveland mother in the face in front of her 1-year-old son and then stealing the woman's car had been released from prison weeks earlier, according to state records.

Ronald Loftis appeared in court Monday, accused of attempted murder, aggravated robbery, felonious assault and other charges for the Jan. 2 shooting that wounded Tiffanie Muscatello outside her home near Madison and West 79th Street in Cleveland."

Time to stop releasing violent criminals. They need to be doing hard labor for at least a decade.

OK, so this type of thing happens all the time. What makes this one any different?

Was he released early for some reason? Did he have a history of violent felonies?

I'm all for the "three strike" rule (third violent felony conviction gets you life) but if a man does his time then he's square with the house and released.

This is a prime example of why the judicial system is broken....We now have judges disregarding their oaths to the Constitution, and ruling based on their own ideological feelings. And in cases like this putting the citizenry in danger.

They should be removed from the bench, and stripped of their ability to practice law in any capacity...

Screw that, put them on a one way helicopter ride out to sea.

Because it happens all the time is no excuse. In fact it is evidence that our justice system is broken...

So if you went to prison for some reason, did your time, and on your discharge day the Warden tells you that you can't leave because someone who did not like the cut of your jib says you have to stay.

Yeah, **** that.

Based on the OP, he hasn't been in prison, only in County Jail, on a $500,000 bond...It sounds like the trial hasn't happened yet.

So, what prison time are you talking about here?

I think this just happened. Jan. 3, mom still in hospital. Sounds like he's way past 3 strikes.

Court records showed Loftis has an extensive criminal history, including several stints in prison dating back to 1998.

State records show Loftis was most recently released from prison on Dec. 4 after serving just under four years on felonious assault, burglary, weapon and other charges.

According to prison records, Loftis was on supervised release at the time police said he shot Tiffanie.

The whole premise of the thread is based on the fact he had been released form prison a month ago.....Before he shot the woman in the face.

Reading is fundamental. 😐

So, it sounds like maybe he should have been kept in prison...What you're saying is it took him less than a month to violently attack somebody...And you're dismissing it as 'meh, no problem, happens all the time?'

Maybe we should look at that....ya think?

He is a black man who shot a white woman. Therefore he is innocent and she is a racist.

Hell, I've had convicts land back on the Unit in less time than that back in the 70s.

50 years on and not much has changed in that regard and every time they would put something in place to prevent it the next bunch of politicians would get shed of it.

Meh, it's almost a circle of life (or death) thing.

Stay frosty, stay strapped.

No violent thugs should ever be released. Sentencing guidelines and liberal judges are a joke.

My disgust for this current "system" knows no bounds.
Let me say this: if the judicial system doesn't start punishing criminals, the people of this country will.

More white racists playing the white race card.

A white man killed a woman in Minneapolis.

A white convicted felon is the President and you all support him.

You guys don't give a **** about crime.

If it's true that the guy only did four years for his prior illegal activity which included possession of a weapon, in my opinion, he was obviously released way too early. People who are guilty of possession with intent should be given a lengthy prison sentence and only four years to me is not even close to being long enough.

God bless you and his victim and her family always!!!

Holly

P.S. I can't blame whoever hopes and prays that the perpetrator ends up in the pit of fire. Anyone who has a demon possessed enough frame of mind deserves whatever punishment is forever dumped on their plate.
