DENHAM SPRINGS — Livingston Parish officials say deputies deployed spikes to disable a car carrying a suspected shoplifter away from an Academy sporting goods store and officers eventually caught up to her and the getaway driver in Tangipahoa Parish.

I firmly believe that when it comes to thieves, the Islamic law of chopping off the hand of thieves, is a suitable punishment and should be implied in western nations, including the United States, along with a stipulation that after the hand is removed, the criminal not be allowed to possess a prosthetic device to replace the hand. After two thefts, the "stumpies" will definitely be curtailed in their activities.
