USA tried to empower Saudis, Emiratis although they can not protect themselves from Yemeni Houthi strikes.
Leave aside Houthis, the Saudis can't protect Aramco oil facilities from Iranian strikes.
USA tried to create Arab NATO, but like Trump said the Saudi King will fall in 2 weeks without US support.
After Arab-NATO Washington think-tank adventures the USA tried to create Abraham accord NATO, but Saudi-Arabia can't join those accords because Saudi-Arabia - despite all PR propaganda how progressive S.Arabia has become - is populated with Saudi fundamentalists around every corner where bonesaw and 9/11 culture is rampant.
Meanwhile Chinese, Iranian, Russian influence (in coordinated way) is running rampant all over the place and they're signing military+economic deals amongst them.

The US president tweeting about destroying Turkish economy.
Placed CAATSA sanctions on defense industry cooperation.
Confiscated Turkish F-35 planes, which Turkiye paid for (final product) and its development.
Whilst accusing Turkiye of genociding Armenians and "Kurds" in Congress and media.
Designated a terrorist organization in Syria as "most effective fighting force against ISIS" just to scream "Turkish genociders" when Turkiye pummeled US-supported Antifa Marxist terrorist organization in Syria.
Now, Russia makes some military moves and USA realizes that almost all NATO allies have become LGBT nations, defunding their Armies for decades and French, Germans talking about creating independent military capabilities from NATO (to the detriment of USA-NATO presence in Europe).
Realizing Turkiye controls Black Sea access and has 2nd largest NATO Army, investing shitloads of money into domestic defense-industry, some billions as strategic planning, some billions because Turkiye is sanctioned by USA .
Meanwhile in last decade Turkish Army has deployed in combat and peacekeeping missions to Iraq, Syria, Libya, Qatar, Somalia, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan.
USA wants to contain China in Pacific, but USA gets middle-finger from EU by increased EU-Chinese trade relations.
Whilst deploying to Pacific to contain China, geostrategically speaking, US was aiming to anchor Israel to Greek, Saudi, Emirati led sphere of influence, geopolitically over Syria by carving-up Syria to create a 2nd Israel (PKK, YPG) and geoeconomically over EastMed pipeline to Greece.
