According to the following AP article, Israel's 2012 incursion into Gaza was not just necessary but was a major success as the decline (but not elimination) of rocket and mortar attacks will attest. Also noted is the continuing need to tighten the Gaza blockade to limit the availability of concrete required to build these tunnels and stop the flow of Iranian weapons into Gaza.
The conclusion obvious to any honest, rational observer? :D
Israel must ignore the whining of the UN, the so-called "human rights" groups and pro-Palestinian (anti-Israeli) pundits who care only about enabling their Hamas terror-rat comrades.

JERUSALEM (AP) — The Israeli military announced Friday it has uncovered another tunnel — the biggest so far — dug from the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip, stretching into Israel and intended for militant attacks or abducting soldiers and civilians...

The tunnel into Israel was found this week by Israeli intelligence and the military, Lerner said, saying the structure was lined with concrete and describing it as very sophisticated, resembling a subway tunnel....

Hamas spokesman Abu Obeida said he blamed the tunnel's discovery on recent rains that exposed its opening, insisting the tunnel itself was old...

Israel has for years banned cement from entering Gaza, arguing it could be used by militants. But since 2010, it has allowed some construction materials in for internationally funded construction projects...

Gaza militants have fired thousands of rockets and mortar rounds at Israel over the past decade. Attacks have declined since an eight-day Israeli offensive in 2012 against Gaza militants aimed at stopping what was almost daily fire at the time...

Earlier this month, Israeli special forces captured a ship in the Red Sea carrying rockets and other weapons that Israel said were supplied by Iran and destined for militants in Gaza.

I find I give less and less time and credence to the idea that the Palestinians actually want peace and that they are not in control of the lack of peace in that struggle.

Israaael should have found some way to evict all the Palestinian squatters in 1948.

As a Christian I wonder if Kerry and Obama realize that they are attempting the Anti-Christ/man of sorrows program of Daniel and Revelations?

This new tunnel, as it lead from Gaza to Israel, was obviously built for only one purpose, and that is terrorism.

How could it be for any other purpose?

Hamas did not deny it's purpose as to do so would have been folly. Instead they whined that the weather had exposed their tunnel. I wonder if he meant the Jews had manipulated the weather and used it to their advantage? :D

The tunnel could have been built as a route for Gaza kids to go to Sunday school?

Time to import some swine from the west and to put them in the tunnels found, being gregarious animals they will survive on any waste food that is thrown to them. They will eventually emerge into gazan sunlight and the idf will be able to pinpoint the exact place the tunnel began. A few rockets aimed at the houses around the entrance to flatten them will soon give the pigs some food that is different. Could cause a stink in Gaza though if the Israelis place a fan their side of the tunnel...............
