Had several opportunities to watch this movie, but wasn't interested enough. Another Planet of the Apes movie? Again?
The movie is set many years into the future. Mankind is sparsely dotted in groups here and there, the apes are living in many clans and groups, no real organization of a large society.
That is changing. A King, renaming himself Caesar, after the Caesar of the previous movies who is long, long dead, is setting out to create a large kingdom of apes.
And he, is not a very nice ape.
Enter new characters who, of course, set out to stop the King from gaining technology and a huge weapon cache left by humans 100s of years ago in a massive underground complex.

Heavily reliant on CGI to create the apes, and I will say it is very well done. Very believable. So that part of it is good.
The story is okay, not bad. Like many Disney movies, the story is light - the effects are heavily relied upon to create a world for the so so story to happen in. There were no surprises, you pretty much knew what was going to happen, and it was all predictable down to the very end.
Worth seeing. Sure. It is a decent movie with solid special effects. But don't expect an epic. You are not going to get one.

Oh this must be the Disney one since they acquired Fox since the reboot trilogy that had been really good.

Of course they went the girl boss route since Disney doesn’t know any other way.

I prefer the originals.
Best ones ever. And I hate "monkey movies". LOL

But I LOVE the actors, especially Roddy McDowell and Charleton Heston!

Some of these CGI movies are just not worth the money wasted on them.

If you aren't going to do it RIGHT, don't do it at all.

Now there are SOME old scifi movies I'd LOVE to see remade with SOME CGI special effects.

I think Soylent Green could be remade with a bit more horror to it, or a much better twist at the end.

I also would love to see a more futuristic version of Logans Run, with MUCH better and scarier tech devices.
