Zone1 Keyboards question

have you ever written on a qwertz keyboard?

or any other keyboard than qwerty?

Do you use an English language keyboard? ... I thought Germans needed extra letters for their various "exceptional" characters ... like ß and ö ...

My mother could type 120 wpm error-free all day long ... it was amazing to watch ...

You should be able to change that ... not only complete character sets but also individual keys can be assigned different values ... I haven't tried so I don't know what permissions are needed to do that ...

The legend is that the original mechanical typewriters were clunky and prone to jamming ... so the inventors laid out the keys in the most difficult manner possible ... so folks wouldn't type so fast and break the machine ... my mother used a Selectric ...

Greek and money?

No ... strictly diversity, equality and integration ... ø is used in Danish, œ is an Elvish vowel sound ... † is for dead people ...

Next line ... åß∂ƒ©˙∆˚¬…æ ... BTW, these are the "option" character set on an Apple keyboard ... and "shift option" yields ÅÍÎÏ˝ÓÔÒÚÆ ...

The Windoze system should have escape codes ... there should be hex codes for a wealth of glyphs ...

btw .... your Elvish vowel sound is also the French for our öÖ

My sources state \œ\ was used as a "falling" diphthong in Sindarin ... "There is nothing in English closely corresponding to \œ\, and it may be pronounced as \oi\" -- Tolkien, JRR; The Return of the King; Appendix E, section "vowels"; 1965 ...
