just me or does rum just taste gross now

I really don't do the hard stuff much, but lately, when I do, I've taken a shine to some Jim Beam Honey, or even a little Crown Royal Vanilla.

I've always been a fan of Jim Beam, but I'm concerned I might be turning black.

pendelton is good whiskey once in awhile but not something you do daily

never had scotch but I suspect it might be smoother due to age but still takes like whiskey

how people drink vodka is beyond me but polish, russian straight from the bottle, blah

that's why they have absolut now in every fruit flavor so it's not so gross

if you really want to get drunk and sick, that's the way to go

watermelon likely tastes like spiked kool-aid

Well, I almost killed myself on Tequila when I was a teen, so now, the only tequila I can drink is Patron Silver.

I like scotch, but it's an acquired taste. Most people can't get past the peat taste. Yet, it is a downright crime to mix a scotch, well a good one at least, with any mix. I think you do that, and they have some kind of Scottish pact that they will hunt you down and make you serve Margaret Thatcher, or something.

glad you are OK, yeah I had too much wild turkey when I was like 19 at a party, I don't enjoy kissing the toilet for hours

most gross thing ever was about 20+ years samual adam which I love the brand had a scottish ale

it was brewed with smoked peat moss

seriously, like drinking and ashtray.......I damn near gagged, I could not even come close to finishing the bottle

I went and grabbed some mouthwash to get that taste out

funny, I don't think koch ever brewed that one again and for good reason

only beer from sam adams out of 35+ style by now that was disgusting

There must be 40 different rums out there. I've never had nor really like Bacardi much less tried their black, which is probably sweeter than plain rum.

That currently is my favorite, but mixed with 7up.
Only thing I will drink straight is a bump of good Tequila. 1800 or Patron.

I have never been a fan of straight rum. For Majito or Daicquiri, I like Bacardi gold. For Cuba Libre, I like the occasional Captain Morgan spiced rum.

If one gets carried away and does a lot of it, you may not want to see another bottle for the rest of the year or more. Nice for a change, though.
We will probably try toop's recommendation on the Cruzan's Black Cherry, as we always have Pepsi on hand, and have never tried Cruzan's.

I throw a lot of chipped ice in a tall, frozen mug, fill with about 1/3rd black cherry rum, then top off with the pepsi.

Flavored rum doesn't go as far as straight rum.

Thanks for the tip. Have put it on the fridge shopping list. I suspect, like the Captain, might be easy to burn out, but will be a good change to occasionally sip at night. We aren't the drinkers we used to be, probably because more prone to hangover than we used to be. Age.., jeesh!

Spiced rum is OK, but I find the flavored rums go a lot farther toward satisfying.

Capt. Morgans or Applebee are nice for a switch off, but I find Myers Dark Rum or a flavored or black rum a lot more enjoyable. Note that black rum like Krakens is the sweetest.

I never drink rum anymore i haven't for years either...

cherry wheat is freaking yummy, been awhile since I found a 6-pack anywhere

vodka is strange, how russians pull it from the freezer and drink it straight.......ugh, fermented potato

needs mixed with juice, anything unless you buy one that is already flavored, watermelon, peach, etc

I been sampling sams for a long time but dechutes is a damn good beer

their black butte porter is like a chocolate meal and I can get that in a 12 pack
