That depends on what you think the objective really is.

If the objective is to play to the white resentment and bigotry of the Trump base, this campaign is tailor made.

Did Hannity, Joe Scarborough or I say it was wrong to deport illegals? No. I simply agreed with the pundit of the Right and the pundit of the left, that were agreeing with each other.

Obama did not try to control the new cycle by publicizing action of CPB and ICE on a daily basis to inflame outrage on either side. That is a significant difference, even though deporting more than anybody in the history of our country.
