Save some of us from this insanity. Evil is rising.

A Montreal lawyer has filed a hate crime complaint after he and his wife, both Jewish, were confronted by a demonstrator at a Palestinian rally calling out “Heil, heil, heil” at them during their visit to Halifax.

Dan Goldstein, 51, had travelled from Montreal with his wife, Liat Lev-Ary, to visit Nova Scotia, and on Aug. 6, after touring the Halifax Public Gardens, they went for lunch. They followed their phone’s map to get to a restaurant, Goldstein said.

“It took us right through the rally,” he said in an interview.

A video taken by Lev-Ary on her phone shows protesters holding signs, waving Palestinian flags, and sidewalk chalk messages calling for immigration officials to bring Palestinian families to Canada because of the ongoing Israel-Hamas war in Gaza.

Not shy about expressing his opinions either, Goldstein can be heard saying “Remember the Bibas family, don’t forget them with the people of Gaza. And don’t forget the hostages,” as he walked along the sidewalk passing the demonstrators. It set off a loud retort, including chants of “Free, free Palestine.”

(The Bibas are a Jewish family of four kidnapped from their home in a kibbutz in Israel during the Oct. 7, 2023, attacks by Hamas and held hostage. The father was eventually released but the mother and their two young children were killed.)

This doesn't seem like much of a "hate crime." That being said, I was disturbed to hear a Palestinian describe civilians killed in Gaza as martyrs rather victims. This type of religious indoctrination leaves little room for peaceful coexistence.

We have a nation where left wing jews promote "nothing to see here" while saying they are just Jewish and the reality of Israel problems is different.

I'm curious. What relevance to the US do Israel's problems have? Because the US has enabled it the US must take responsibility for Israel's genocide?

Oh no! He talked to them?? No way.

Was he obligated to 'scoot by"?
He was not obligated to do anything. He just wanted to be a bad ass picking a fight and got lucky the angry mob didn't beat the crap out of him.

I want to comment on the Bibas thing. I am pretty sure that for most regular Canadians, very very few know about the Bibas family. And it's because the Bibas were a family that lived on the other side of globe, and not only that, most Canadians have neither cultural, nor blood ties to them. Hence, almost no Canadian knows about them. I certainly don't. But here, Mr. Goldtein did. I guess you can try and argue it was because he was well-read and well-informed in world affairs, given that he is a lawyer, but I honestly think the actual reason is that he is Jewish first, and Canadian second, he cares more about Israel and what happens there, and this is why he is so familiar with something that is insignificant to most Canadians. I see this happen regularly in my own community (I am a non-white immigrant myself). Everyone is very well informed about what goes on back home. Everybody who wasn't born here, identifies with their home country, rather than Canada. This is a very, very common occurrence. In fact, I see it in the States, too. Apparently, the famous singer Selena Gomez, was born in the US and is a US citizen, literally referred to some Mexicans as "her people". These non-white immigrants, doesn't matter how long they have been in the West, still strongly identify with their home countries and their people. It just shows that blood is much stronger than geography.

Sounds like a fresh exchange of free speech.

Yes, and I love the responses I am seeing. Defcon, who I assume to be American, gave a thumbs-up, whereas the Canadian hoser OP, gave a shocked face. Lmao it was beautiful.

You call it "indoctrination", because you disagree/disapprove of it.

Furthermore, I can see from the perspective of the Palestinians, that those civilians can really be considered martyrs in a way. Their deaths have a certain significance, they weren't just people who got blown up by bombs, they were people, who I am guessing either fought, or resisted the Israelis in some way. The Palestinians most likely believe that these people did not die in vain. And to me, that qualifies them as martyrs.

The Jew decided to make a big stink about it by filing a complaint and going to a newspaper. I am sure he trotted out stuff like being able to live free from harassment or religious persecution or whatever, you know, things that Jews always like to say, as they again and again try to change the host country they're in, to make it a more hospitable environment for themselves. Jews always do this, they can only think about themselves, how to make their lives in the West more comfortable, how to make their existence in the West more secure. They don't ever care about any higher ideals, they only spew these ideals, because they know that they appeal to white people. To Jews, these ideals mean absolutely nothing. They just want to be able to survive and thrive and enjoy their time in the West. Nothing more.

So, the mob can say and do as they wish no problem.

But, he has to stay quite less he be accused of trying to provoke a fight?

LOL

What he should have done, is to reflect to himself, "Just what exactly did my people do, that causes everybody in the world to hate us?" You know, like what a normal person would do. But instead, all this Jew could say was, "You guys did shit to us, too".

And of course, people like you defend this.

Well, considering that it was a mob, it was not wise to pick a fight with them alone. Mr. Goldstein was just an entitled prick thinking he was invincible.

He has every right to speak his mind, the same as the lunatic rent-a-mob.

Your opinion of what "he should have done" amounts to exactly zero.

I didn't say he doesn't.

Why do you say that? You think that it is wrong to self-reflect? When people evidently hate my people a lot, I should just say shit back to them, instead of asking myself why? Is this what you are telling me?

Of course, pick a fight then don't whine in playing the victim. We established it was a mob, it seems that Mr. Goldstein thought that it was "prudent" to antagonize them. Well, it wasn't. However the mob spoke its mind also. Is it a one way street? Mr. Goldstein can exercise his right while the mob doesn't? There was no physical harm done to either party. Just call it a day.

Why should you care what someone thinks when they don't have a clue what's going on, besides what the T.V. said.

The mob was exercising their rights, looks like he did too.

For every action, there is a reaction.

Be prepared.

Also, obviously he felt antagonized as well.
