I find it amusing when some fool says trump or musk does it for "greed".
They are BILLIONAIRES! They have more money than they could spend in a life time. Greed couldn't be less of a factor!
They could be on a beach listening to the ocean and sipping a drink with a little paper umbrella in it.
Instead they are risking their time, effort...their fortunes and even their lives to uphold the ideals that are AMERICA!
I'm sure he wishes he didn't throw out the large number he did because it is clear in retrospect that he was overpaying due to the artificial data they provided but he knew he could take on the challenge.
He probably didn't sleep more than 4 hours on any given night the first month he took over that over staffed behemoth.
It takes a man with great courage and proper prioritizing his life to say "I could lose billions here, but, I know that I love America and what it represents so I will go forward."
This could be his legacy long after he is gone. He showed in this moment that he is not rapacious, he just wants to do what he knows is right.
When he told a crowd of wealthy corporate CEOs to "go F yourself", he was repeating publicly and directly what he has for years. When I saw that I said "this guy is real, he's not messing around anymore".
He cannot be bought and in fact, like any person of character, he finds it offensive to try and buy him. He would more respect someone if they called him the worst names in public or tried to beat him in the business world than he would if you try to basically blackmail him to bend to their will and stifle free speech. I saw this with the nefarious tactics some used to try and destroy Tesla when they were shorting his stock and trying to generate negative news about them.
There is no wonder when he saw Trump almost get assassinated that he said to himself "I can't sit on the sidelines while this guy is literally taking bullets to fight for America". It was similar to Hulk Hogans reaction when he thought to himself "am I going to sit back like a coward or do I find real courage to speak at his convention"?
Since I was a kid I always viewed courage as the most honourable trait. The most rare and often the most critical trait to the success of freedom. He's the kind of guy who his employees will go through a wall for him because they see a man who combines courage with ingenuity and ambition.
I swear to G-d if I lived in America I'd be applying to work for one of his companies. Just an amazing story from a guy who wasn't even born in America. He represents the quintessential type of immigrant America should want to attract.
