I think this Iran caper is unique in human history. An adversary is simply picking off the leaders of their opponent, after having largely eliminated the victims' ability to defend itself.

The unfortunate part is that there can never be a total elimination of Iran's ability to retaliate. In a rational society, they could be hurt until they give up, but Mooooooslims don't appear to react as rational humans.

This war would be seen differently by more people if the past 47 years had all occurred in just the past year or two. Because Iran has been attacking and threatening us for so long, people have simply gotten used to it and rather tone deaf to Iran's threats asking "Why Now."

Meantime, we waited so long it might already be too late and indeed, Iran could have a terrorist cell in the USA right now with a dirty bomb for all we know.
