Can we limit food purchases of fatties?

The government will shut you down if you do not have a good social credit score. They are already doing this in China.

Hey, maybe they won’t let you buy a house if you said something considered BAD by thr government.

China is already doing this.

It is super dangerous.

It could be used to stop cult ***** from buying Birkenstocks and Pachouli.

“China’s SCS has widely been misunderstood as a mass surveillance scheme, a way of snooping on private citizens and punishing them for perceived social transgressions. In reality, it is not dissimilar to credit rating systems in other countries, only that it doesn’t exclusively look at financial history and activity, but also factors like legal violations and unethical behavior. The scope and type of information collected under the SCS also differ between the four different target categories.”

legal violations and unethical behavior?

What a load of BS.

THE USA IS NOT CHINA.

You're defending Chinese style communism?
It's a proven success story that's unequalled in history. It might deserve a closer look.
I don't think I want the government deciding what kind of food I can eat.
It's not cost effective to ignore advice against eathing junk food and America has no health care system that can respond to the health crisis.

Compare America's declining life expectancy alone. It's becoming 'exceptional' with a different twist!

UH... lol - no.

German slave labor was also a success story. I don't think we need those kinds of successes in a free country. It would no longer be free.

Free Americans should decide for themselves what to eat and how much. when government decides then you have a police state.

This may be the kind of power grab that finally wakes people up. Or, it won't wake people and we'll slide further toward totalitarian government.

On the flip side, this kind of thing might actually drive crypto into common usage.

The social credit nonsense is where Yang completely lost me.
I completely agree. Sadly, this younger generation loves being censored and controlled and instant gratification through likes on social media. The CBD is just one more item that will be included with medical, social, driver's license, etc.

We could force people to exercise and eat healthy.

BYE BYE FAST FOOD AND CANDY AND SWEETS….YOU MUST BE A CERTAIN BMI, or you are not allowed to buy garbage food.

"We" could control people's lives broadly and deeply with this kind of scheme. Do "we" want to do that?

Yep. Although eating healthy food is the best medicine imo, if I decide I want some lard biscuits and karotid clogging gravy, I'm going to go eat it.
