I know that many European countries have crimes against religion, like blasphemy; I think he committed a blasphemy against Catholic religion

Its Catholic Ireland why would anyone be surprised that they have blasphemy laws ? Regardless I'm pretty sure the punishment is nowhere near as steep as it can be with Sharia.
