The in wheel motor is not a new concept, but this looks good. More efficiency from the dual rotor design, and more room for batteries in the vehicle. Looks like something that would really work well for 4 wheel drive vehicles.

This should be entertaining, Germans always over-engineer things.

This is no exception, they have an extra rotor full of magnets.
The simplicity of something like that probably shouldn't be messed with.
It could end up being a great idea, too. :dunno:

A motor instead of brakes ... should be popular on the Autobahn ...

I quit watching when the spokes-model claimed no Rare Earths were being used ... that's not a term used anymore ... and even if it was, we generally don't use Lanthanides in motors ... batteries maybe but not motors ... if you're wondering, Niobium is a group 5 transition metal ... it's never been considered a Rare Earth ...

Still waiting for these new carburetors that give 120 miles per gallon ...

Actually 120 mpg is quite easy.
Many people have built practical cars with that.
You just want to keep it light, and to have a 2-stroke, direct fuel injection, supercharged, high compression, diesel engine.
The higher the compression, the better the mpg.
The supercharger makes 4 stroke unnecessary, by blowing out the exhaust gases instead wasting a piston stroke to do that.

The only problem is that high compression diesels produce more NOx, which actually is not a problem.
NOx breaks down in hours, and becomes harmless.
But the EPA does not like NOx for some bizarre reason.

Show me a 2-stroke diesel engine in practical application today, dipshit. :rolleyes-41:
You're a lying machine.

If 120 mpg was easy ... why don't you do it ...

You seem completely uninformed about NOx's biological role ... could you please explain how the oxides of Nitrogen are being oxidized in the atmosphere? ... please use the redox model ... if were "breaking down" NOx, where does the energy come from? ...

Nice try Old smelly Socks, when you're all in the oven & gone real scientists can get it working. Next generation can use it in Segways. They can fly in your battery airplanes too. But dont ask me to fund you and your drifting saps up in Portland.

NP. Just need an inline 4-cylinder with overhead cams and 4v/cyl.
Angle valve job, boring and balancing and jetting. Making the clearances all right.
None of that is necessary to go over 120 mph, but it's fun! :D
Oh, MPG, nm. That only gets about 58.
At whatever speed you wanna go.

Yeah ... just talking out your ass ... we can get 58 mpg by just removing the smog control ... but it's pretty selfish to be polluting like that ...

It's like pissing in the river up-stream from where mothers are washing babies ...

Ah yes, we should never fund such boondoggles as ARPANET. And the very idea of the government funding such silly things as great big dams, what the hell can they be used for? And then there was the Corps of Discovery, ten times over budget and came in a year late. Ah yes, those Goddamned government boondoggles spending your few pennies. LOL Get back into you cave.

$38T Old socks. $28T since your muslim funded Solyndra etc at about $1T per yr phony stimulus. What did WE get out of it? You got a welfare check you dumb OX.

It's called money laundering back to thise who get richer.
