A shooting occurred Wednesday night in north Minneapolis after U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers were attacked by men with shovels during an arrest operation amid Operation Metro Surge, three U.S. officials told CBS News.

One of the men, a Venezuelan migrant, was shot in the leg but is expected to be OK, two of the officials told CBS News.

A large crowd quickly formed at the scene, with demonstrators clashing with law enforcement late Wednesday night.



The rioters are acting crazy because so many in power have told them they won't face the consequences for their actions when interfering with ICE (and for committing other crimes as well).

20,000 gun laws, I'm pretty sure if we looked hard enough, we'd find one that is being violated by guys who touch their guns in ways that makes the gun uncomfortable.

Attacking Federal Agents is a crime with zero statute of limitations. And in today's camera world....there always will be pictures to capture this crime. You are never going to get away with it....your life is now officially over, never resumed again. What comforts you used to have are now forfeited and you have to live a life on the run.

In the USA, rioting and violence has NEVER changed anything. Not even thousands of "peace protest" has stopped a single war or military action despite claims to the contrary. Even the Black riots of the 60's didn't force any real change. Sure, pretty words said by politicians to appease, but people got arrested, killed, maimed, hurt....others used the riots as a means of grafting the nation. No one ever got away with the violence....slowly and quietly they ALL went to jail eventually....

Attempting to evade arrest, Sosa-Celis fled the scene in his vehicle, crashed into a parked car, and proceeded to flee on foot. The law enforcement officer pursued Sosa-Celis also on foot, caught up to him, and attempted to apprehend him when Sosa-Celis began to resist and violently assault the officer. While Sosa-Celis and law enforcement were in a struggle on the ground, two subjects came out of a nearby apartment and attacked the law enforcement officer with a snow shovel and broom handle.
