I wish my school's "Popular People" were much more ambitious

This a typical middle class suburban public school district.

The "Jocks" tended to go into the military or construction. The "Popular Girls" tended to become nurses, hairdressers, and MLM. One became a flight attendant. One dropped out of college.

It seems like many more of the "Populars" of "Gen Z" are going to college.

Why couldn't "Millennials" be as intellectual and ambitious as them?

What promoted low ambition to 2000s kids?

I want a a future where all hairstylists are replaced by AI controlled robots and all nurses are paid six figures, nice, kind, and science believing! Wild that anti vaxxer nurses exist and many are "Mean Girls"! I want a future where all "Construction Workers" have at least a 4 year engineering degree!

Where is that "Enlightened Future" I used to dream of?

I want anyone who ever made fun of "Nerds" in 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s American schools to be totally on board with my vision for the future!
