I could send you $45....

...to put the skin back elchorizo

This new current skin is now either Xenforo default that comes with the site as standard, or it cost the site $45. So which is it? I reckon the former based on donations.

Basically, either yourself or the forum owners just want the new skin, security bollox being the excuse. So we all live with it now. But one request - can you get rid of this stupid Eagle that appears a million times down the left-hand side?

The xenforo skin works because it's built in and all the add-on modifications are made to work with it. Custom skins are not. We spent a lot of time getting this custom skin working with everything.

If I have to do it for another custom skin, it's going to take hours. So there's a difference. Seems pretty obvious and logical to me. There's nothing "new" about this skin. This is the same default skin we've been using on USMB dating back to 2023 and the last upgrade. We had a few people on the "old" skin and spent a lot of time getting it working with the last upgrade. I played around with it for an hour trying to get it working on the new software version but there was too much that was broken and I gave up.

Believe whatever you want to believe. If I was trying to force people to use this skin I wouldn't have bothered getting the default Xenforo skin going... but I did... because????? Because it didn't take hours of work, only took 2 minutes of work because everything works with it.

As for the eagle: No, I can't get rid of it. There has to be an icon there, I like that icon... no matter what I choose to use there someone's going to bitch about it.

Make it $200 and I'll dedicate 6 hours to doing it.

The new skin is cool.

The old one looked like home of a serial killer

Your programming skills are well above your communication skills. I sense you have a degree.

If you go back a few years when I asked if the skin will be forced onto users, if you had communication skills based on your target audience, you would have said, "Behind the scenes, pretty much evolves around the Xenforo software and updates. This also includes the integration and implementation of such things as skins as these can lead to compatibly and security issues."

But you feel above others and hence why you didn't communicate as such. And the funny thing is, you're getting shirty. I messaged you about a ban, how the system works. You ignored me. I assume you're above me and I don't warrant a reply?

Just like there's a new moderator. Why wasn't that communicated? Do you think that's very basic communication?

Don't worry, the more qualified you feel, the less you feel qualified to communicate. It's a bizarre phenomenon, but it's having the self awareness skills to avoid it.

Are you the only the administrator around here, or are there others?

The software update is a perfect example of not being able to make everyone happy at one time. If this is all some people have to bitch about, consider yourselves lucky. Watch out for microscopic cracks in your glass houses, though!

If you want info about a ban, you need to PM a mod(s).

What I said at the time is valid. I'm not a politician. I'm not going to politik you with some polite non answer. I just say what is true.

I don't know what shirty means.

I did ignore you, as I ignore 99% of moderator complaints. I don't 'handle moderation duties or moderation issues. You can talk to the moderation team for that. I handle technical stuff.

I don't assume anything.

No one owes you anything here. You participate as much or as little as you want, as you see fit. No one is forcing you.

I messaged you dingbat, you didn't know. So I messaged Elcohorizo and was ignored. It's like the goon show around here. Do you want me to copy and paste our PM conversation?

Care to respond to me in that PM so it comes up? I looked thru mine all the way back to Dec 2023 and didn't something about a ban.

Apologies, it was was with Don't Taz Me Bro. I asked how I suddenly got banned.

"I'm not sure, but it was probably due to accumulating too many points over a period of time"

So after that -

I asked admin, "About the beginning of August, I suddenly went onto a week's ban. After returning, I messaged a mod and they don't know why. I never received a message or alert about any offences caused. The mod assumed, "Could be an accumulation of points". Do members not get to know if points are dished out?

So, is there a glitch in the software on why mods don't know why members get bans/suspensions etc..

Just all seems a bit bizarre
."

No reply, ignored

You are my normally my goto Mod.

Many find communication a big word. Knowing how systems work would be great, assuming someone around here either knows or is willing to divulge without getting shirty.

So do you do infractions behind the scenes that incurs points onto members without them knowing? How would you expect members to learn if they don't know what mark they over stepped? More importantly, do you or anyone else give a toss?
