These guys are determined to do what is right, despite the odds heavily stacked against them. Just two more run of the mill unsung heroes attempting the impossible with a couple of synthetic tug sleds, string & BIG hearts.

Hurts the heart to hear a beautiful animal in such panic. I could only listen for a few minutes.

It brought my dog running to see what the problem was!

It's not a one way street with deer being rescued, as the does come a running to the rescue when they hear other species lil baboos crying out in need. Below; momma comes running to check out the other momma's lil Baboo. Notice the doe's WIDE LEGGED ALERT STANCE like she is HARD WIRED TO "PROTECT"(fight for) THE LIL BABOOS whether they are her own Baboos or not! Notice she hangs around until she is satisfied that the lil Baboo is not in danger!!!

Do the bucks exhibit the same behavior?

If not, this clears something up. When I lived in Montana, several years ago, I was learning to shoot and contemplating the possibility of hunting, if I had stayed there. Eventually, I moved back to the coast and that was it for hunting.

I talked to everyone I could about hunting, while I was there, and the men all told me that women were better shots and better hunters than men. I was talking to a woman once and she related an experience of shooting a doe, only to find that she was pregnant out of season. The woman was so effected by the experience that she vowed to never again shoot a doe.

Now I understand more about that conversation.

The does are unique when compared to the bucks which are transient as they migrate from herd to her searching out does to make lil Baboos with, like that's their job. The does are fiercely protective of their fawns which explains their aggressive behavior towards humans if the doe in question deems that her fawn(s) are in danger because of a human getting too close for comfort. There are more doe attacks on humans(generally) than buck attacks because of this perceived danger the does have. This somewhat explains a does psych when it comes to the fanatical bonding to "certain" humans ESPECIALLY female humans. Notice the NATURAL affection between momma Mcgaughey & Faline;

No, in my opinion. The bucks other than the mating season run in bachelor mode, often with their fellow bucks. The mommas run their buck yearlings(called Spikes) out of the herd come each spring in what is called the "Spring Dispersal"(heart breaking to see) so the fawn bucks do not interbreed with their mommas. Each herd of deer that U encounter has a matriarch(Boss Doe) doe that manages her herd, but "ALL" the does are hard wired to respond to the sound of a fawn in distress, & obviously lil human Baboos cries also.

All one gets from dropping deer is the below dust collector;

Why drop a deer when one can pull a Cabin Squirrel & have the below every night/day of the week;

Don't fear the bucks attacking U as it appears from online research that in 2025 there were only 4 buck attacks on humans in our America, 1 of those attacks was fatal:

NO reported doe deer attacks on humans @ all in our USA for calendar year 2025. The link stated that all four attacks were in the rut season. That's only 4 deer attacks on humans in our USA out of an estimated 36 million deer for a full year!!!! Compare that to attacks on humans by domesticated canines like YIKES;

Honestly speaking here, the bucks are most likely more dangerous to themselves than they ever could be towards humans as seen below;

Deer, don't live life without them!

Are you technically a “humanitarian” if you’re rescuing animals?
