I doubt I have seen a darker movie than this.
There are scenes that will make you extremely uncomfortable, the worst of it I actually had my hand on the remote and was really-really close to just shutting it off. For those who have seen this movie, you know what scene I am referring to. The worst of humanity on display.
If I had known what the movie was, I would not have chosen it. It is well acted, well written, well directed with a compelling storyline that grips you hard and you for sure want to see how this all plays out... like watching a major car crash... and in the slow moving traffic you reach the scene and you just have to look to see if you can see some carnage. That - is this movie.

I had to look it up to see why I passed.

Heroic woman lead, evil white Christian man. It's too woke for me.

It looks like Dakota Fanning. There was a series called Brimstone about a Cop who murdered his wife's killer and was killed in the line of duty and went to hell. There were some escapees from the fire and brimstone so the devil used the Cop to go back to earth and round them up. I liked the series.
