As per Statistikhengst's instructions...

Go to User Control Panel (User CP)
Click on Edit Signature
Insert image in Signature Block, including bracketed IMG codes: Example:
Open a New Window under File
Click on the thread with which you want to link the image.
Copy the url address at the top of screen
Return to Signature block in first window
Highlight the entire IMG address including bracketed codes
Click on Insert Link (icon with globe)
Paste the url address of the thread you copied (from the second window)
Click okay
(You will see the image address will already be populated/highlighted so simply)
Click OUT of the entire formula
Done!
