How can i update drivers?

someone told me to update the drivers and that might fix my computer from locking up.
how do i update the drivers?

Type format
Hit return
That should cure it

Or delete the "system32" folder.

HINT: Don't do either of those things!

I use windows xp and I found all my updates free. The video card drivers are almost always free from the manufacturers. But if you do a search for updates you will also find people asking you for payment for drivers that are free. So keep searching until you find the free updates.

i did that on every item in device manager and it says the latest software is installed.

With SlimDrivers free, it does scan your `puter and find the drivers for you...

... but you do have to install the drivers individually...

... still, it takes the aggravation out of havin' to look up all the websites of the hardware in one's machine...

... which can be a real pain in the neck for a DYI or custom-built...

... with hardware from more than a few different vendors.
