I've had rain for 3 days straight, often heavy which is unusual
my valley is soaked, my creek is a full blown river that is about to crest over

where is this rain in august when it's so dry the grass turns brown and the trees
are on life support?

this timing really sucks nature, get with a better program

But if you want to move to more end -of -twig speculation , check whether the Schumann Constant has changed, either due to a decreasing electro magnetic field ,or by deliberate adjustment -- the moon being moved for experimental reasons .
The last named is the most likely , imho , but presently apparently the most far fetched !!!
