In Canada we have MANY bullies. They like to throw their weight around and abuse the little guy, often with massive state powers. You know, $5000 fines if you went for a walk outside during covid, massive $100M+ extra freebie handouts to police agencies, new shiny multi-billion dollar police HQs etc.
They threaten the weak among them until one day they face a big dog who won't give in because the guy who is used to bullying people is a small fry compared to that he is standing up to.
Some people don't realize that the bullying against others leads to others feeling free to reciprocate. Canada/Ontario could hit America with 150% tariffs and it wouldn't hurt America remotely as much as it would Canada at only a 35% tariff rate.
We have really slow politicians in Canada. They have oatmeal for brains and little respect for civil liberties and human rights, even sometimes putting their thumb on the scale even when they didn't have even half of the facts.
Ontario Premier Doug Ford has once again taken a stand against Donald Trump. He believes that Canada should respond with equivalent tariffs against the United States should Donald Trump decide to implement new tariffs after his trade deal deadline on August 1st expires
