Hilton drops Minnesota hotel

Hilton Worldwide Holdings has removed from its system a Minneapolis hotel that has refused to accept the bookings of Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents, the hotel operator said on Tuesday.

"We are taking immediate action to remove this hotel from our systems. Hilton is - and has always been - a welcoming place for all," the company said on X.

Yesterday it was reported the Hampton Inn hotel in question had resolved the issue. Well, apparently not. Congrats for Hilton taking the FAFO approach.

No, that specific hotel is not getting money from government employees. Hilton owns the Hampton Inn brand name. The hotel was franchised under the Hampton Inn name. They dropped the hotel which will no longer he a Hilton-named property as a Hampton Inn. Sorry you did not know that, but that's the way it is.

I have stayed almost exclusively at Hampton Inn for the past 5 years after "living" in one for almost a month after my liver transplant because I was 200 miles from home. They have always been excellent.

No one is forcing those hotels to give lodging to ICE agents or anyone else. Hiton (also a private company) decided they didn’t want be associated with them anymore. GSA removed them from the approved vendor list. They should be happy. There’s no chance anyone from DHS will book a room at their hotels now.
