Hillbilly Elegy by JD Vance

A best seller I'm told but I never read it. Vance is the current republican nominee for V.P.

“I’m a ‘never Trump’ guy. I never liked him.”

“My god what an idiot.”

“I find him reprehensible.”
"I go back and forth between thinking Trump is a cynical asshole ... or that he's America's Hitler".

Things JD Vance said about Trump.

I'm sure that'll get lots of support from people.

:th_smiley_emoticons_gaehn:....

JD Vance is full street smarts; he's a thug (don't let the tie fool you). Trump likes the fact that he has street smarts.

JD Vance's mother was a drug addict, and his father was in jail. He could not remain a democrat in favor of killing babies. He married his wife and they had three beautiful children.

Obama evolved into accepting gay marriage. Let's give the guy the same courtesy.

He's grown as a person since then.

He's grown as a person since then.
Yes, and here is what he has been saying since those days.

“Yes, I did not like, or trust Donald Trump. I said some negative and yes, even nasty things. That was many years ago. Just like millions of Americans today, I did not know the real President Trump. My opinion changed because I got to know him personally. I saw his love for America. I witnessed his heart for forgotten working-class Americans. And I saw his results as president. He made America great again. He brought back manufacturing. He made us energy independent. He increased middle class income more than anyone in modern history- with no inflation. He cut taxes for middle-class Americans. We had peace throughout the world. Compare that to the disaster of past four years of Biden. Now you know the alternative. Trust me, Trump is the only choice. I’m sorry I ever doubted him. I was wrong. I’ve learned.”

He wanted to be a Republicans so his smaller government ethos could go around telling others how to live their lives. Rock on.

Why is that important in reviewing a best seller book?

A best seller I'm told but I never read it. Vance is the current republican nominee for V.P.

My understanding of the book is that it is not even remotely complimentary of the region and its people.

It was a good movie, I saw it well before I knew who JD Vance was.
Amy Adams was, as usual, excellent in it.

Funny how the critics hated this movie, but audiences loved it. I thought it was pretty good, but wanted to see more about JD’s military experience. All in all a solid flick.

Vance's opinion changed in 30 days. Isn't that amazing?

Critics don't judge movies the same way audiences do. Generally, they are looking at quality of productions; that is acting, scripts, direction, and cinematography. Most audiences are draw to movies based on Genre, whether the type of story appeals to them, their favorite actors, and of course the cost of admission. Many people will not pay money for movies at a theater when they can stream them at home without paying a fee.
