Here is an example of left-wing BLM style cancel culture. IE false accusations of racism. But it’s also being cheered on by the woke right.

Over the weekend, the English punk rap duo sparked outrage at the music festival in the United Kingdom. During their set, they led crowds in a chant of "death, death to the IDF,"referring to the Israeli Defense Forces.

The BBC, which broadcast the music festival, issued an apology: "We deeply regret that such offensive and deplorable behavior appeared on the BBC and want to apologize to our viewers and listeners and in particular the Jewish community. We are also unequivocal that there can be no place for antisemitism at, or on, the BBC."

…..

"The @StateDept has revoked the US visas for the members of the Bob Vylan band in light of their hateful tirade at Glastonbury, including leading the crowd in death chants," Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau wrote on X on Monday. "Foreigners who glorify violence and hatred are not welcome visitors to our country."

The duo was also dropped by their agent UTA, Deadline reported.

Bob Vylan—who uses the stage names Bobby Vylan and Bobbie Vylan—responded to backlash on Instagram on Tuesday.

"We are not for the death of Jews, Arabs or any other race or group of people. We are for the dismantling of a violent military machine," they wrote. "We, like those in the spotlight before us, are not the story. We are a distraction from the story. And whatever sanctions we receive will be a distraction."

Of course, criticism of a military apparatus is nothing new. Recall the Vietnam or Iraq war…tons of criticism toward the US army …recall the criticism of the Russian military in Ukraine… or the British military operations in Northern Ireland during the troubles…

All for a fat pig politician Netanyahu …and his cronies and supporters…. a bunch of whiny babies. Whining nonstop about fake racism like the cowards they are. Lying all the time. The IDF and Netanyahu are open to criticism. Their terrible approach to the media has cost them the support of the American people left and right,

Funny thing I bet Bob Vylan becomes more wealthy and popular because of the cancel culture.

Death death death to BLM. How does that sound?
Free speech must prevail ^ again we have this,

Of course, criticism of a military apparatus is nothing new. Recall the Vietnam or Iraq war…tons of criticism toward the US army …recall the criticism of the Russian military in Ukraine… or the British military operations in Northern Ireland during the troubles…

Nothing special about the IDF.

This so called band just learned that trying to incite violence is bad for business.
They are even more popular now.

Whiny woke right no different then the whiny woke left.

They can say whatever they want. that. Free speech rights are intact. Their visas to say it here is what's stopped. The intent is to incite violence. They have the whole of Europe for thst.

A serious weakness in America is allowing "Conscientious" Objector status.

this isnt cancel culture,,

Have a look at what Miles says about Glastonbury .

added 7/2/25, Bob Vylan and Kneecap. Two more MI6 agents-provocateur.

PREDICTABLE THEATRE
That is interesting and certainly a possibility. Nevertheless, it is simply really harsh criticism of a military. I don’t see it as anything different from what happened to the Vietnam or Iraq war. No individuals are targeted.

Also within the most extreme Zionists in Israel, and there are deluded small percentage of Christian Followers in the USA…. These folks have said the most vicious things about Muslims and every now and then even Christians in general. So that’s even worse than what the rap duo said.

Free speech can be very offensive. I’ve even heard conservatives here on the USMB say one could say the same thing about the president of the US as the rap duo said about the IDF and it will be legal.

Well that is subjective. What the rap group said is certainly controversial and offensive to a lot of people …but again I’ve heard conservatives here say that people are allowed to say the same thing about the president of the USA without legal repercussion.

The rap duo openly said they are not against Jews or Arabs. And it’s really no different than criticism of the US military industrial complex or the US Army in Vietnam or Iraq. Or again the Russian army in Ukraine or British military operating in north Ireland.

Looking at the big picture according to the associated press over 55,000 Palestinians have been killed by the IDF. So that there are some government officials and business officials complaining about what a rap duo said to the extent of cancelling them …is outrageous. Well by their logic Netanyahu should be sent to an international criminal court and banned from entering the USA.

Whether their speech was inciting violence or not is up for debate.

Whatever it was, though, neither the BBC, i.e. British government, nor the U.S. State Department, i.e. the U.S. Government is required to facilitate the spread of any one particular group's speech.

They had their say. The fact that their say was a call for death for a group of people gave them their fifteen minutes of fame. That was clearly the goal. It did not guarantee them a platform from which to keep saying the same thing.

They've had their fifteen. Why are they owed more?

Hint for the OP: If people do not want to be perceived as haters inciting violence, maybe leave the phrase "death to" out of their diatribes?

I've never said "death to" the Military Industrial Comples, though I've criticized it often enough.

They can say whatever they like. They just can't get a visa to do it here. Netanyahu has never, to my knowledge, taken to a stage and led chants of death to anyone. Even though the Palestinians deserve it.

We wouldn't want to hurt the feelings of murderous miscreants like Netanyahu, Ben Gvir, Smotrich, Gallant and their saintly IDFers, would we?

No, he just sends his Mossad to silently make people disappear when his agenda is challenged. And they can manufacture whatever they need to justify it and distribute through Israel friendly media which is most of the media of the West. By the time it gets to us, Israel is painted as a Kingdom of God and Palestine as a manifestation of pure evil. Israel's actions through the decades have served to cultivate that hate and that evil. They reap what they sow. They never take any responsibility for creating the current situation, even if there ARE other guilty parties.

Palestine IS a manifestation of pure evil. Jews should start their own chant. Death death death to rap.

Thanks for an excellent synopsis of current Middle East realities.

In a rare moment of honesty, Netanyahu has made clear the true nature of the Israeli US "alliance":

“Once we squeeze all we can out of the United States, it can dry up and blow away.” - Benjamin Netanyahu

From:

“Stupid pro-Israel Americans - have you heard these quotes from your hero Netanyahu? See below?”
Next, I also appreciate your characterization of the egregious pro Israel bias in Western MSM.
Re:
Israel is painted as a Kingdom of God and Palestine as a manifestation of pure evil.

Please note similar characterization in red, below:

“Studies continually show strong pro-Israel bias in western media”
http://www.middleeasteye.net/columns/studies-continually-show-strong-pro-israel-bias-western-media-881718416

EXCERPT “Mainstream western media outlets are, by and large, infused with a pro-Israeli ideological bias that colors nearly all mainstream Western reporting on Israel-Palestine.

Israel is assumed to be good, peaceful, and like ‘us’. The Palestinians, meanwhile, are backwards, violent, and foreign. These are the assumptions that most western news outlets start with," CONTINUED

Re:
They never take any responsibility for creating the current situation,....

You wouldn't believe some of the outrageous explanations I've read for how well over 60,000 have been murdered with even more buried under the rubble:

1. "Hamas killed most of them for pity..."

2. "They're Palestinians, they deserved it."

3. "Human shields...." etc etc

Thanks again,
