I wouldn't go to Germany, not on my destination list, Germany is dull and depressing.

I studied German in high school. Thirty years later, I planned to stop there on the way to elsewhere in Europe, until lockdowns changed my travel plans. Studying French or Spanish would have been more useful here.

I spent two weeks touring the Germany country side as part of REFORGER and a week in Heidelberg during Desert Storm. I also played tourist for a week or two and got to see my favorite German city, Medival Rothenburg ob der Tauber.

Ahh the beer. The worst beer I had in Germany was better than the best US beer. Loved the country, the German people not so much.

One of the few towns that didn't get destroyed in WWII. Many German cities, like Frankfort, were flattened. Hard to imagine what else has been lost forever.

I've never been to Germany. The only foreign country I've been to is Mexico, with my family when I was a youngster.
