Hamas Accepts a New Ceasefire Deal

18 Aug 2025 ~~ By John Sexton

Hamas has apparently accepted the terms of a ceasefire deal similar to one that was proposed last month but never put in place. The deal would free some remaining hostages in exchange for more than 200 Palestinian prisoners.
There are an estimated 50 remaining Israeli hostages in Gaza, with only 20 of them believed to be alive. So Hamas is essentially offering half of the remaining hostages in exchange for hundreds of convicts. This is apparently very similar to an agreement Israel had accepted last month.
However, that deal never happened and now Israel has said it's not interested any longer in a deal that doesn't free all of the hostages.
It's pretty clear why Hamas is suddenly interested in this deal. Netanyahu has made it clear he intends to take over Gaza City unless Hamas surrenders and disarms.
This morning, President Trump posted something on Truth Social indicating he supported the eradication of Hamas.

So faced with another fight it can't win and the possibility of an actual surrender, Hamas is suddenly begging for Israel to accept half a loaf, i.e. half the hostages, no surrender and no disarmament by Hamas. That's not an attempt to find peace, it's a desperate plea for survival by a terrorist group in danger of losing everything. "Like you, I hear the reports in the media, and from them, you can get the impression of one thing — that Hamas is under immense pressure," Netanyahu said.

Commentary:
Considering the history of Hamas and Islamonazism, I don’t believe that even a policy of “Trust, But Verify” would sufficient.
DSA Marxist Democrats and Hamas all have a lot in common, they are proud members of the Party Of Hate and The Party of Death.
It appears that this latest deal with Egypt to allow Palestinian refugees to enter. adding that to their loss of credibility in the media Hamas leaders have their backs against the wall.
The deal is no longer accepted; it was available for certain time only. Hamas is still trying to use the hostages as a point of negotiation and it's failing.

My prayers have been answered, at least partially. The world needs peace and Israel needs its citizens back. There must be a safe and free home for Jews and Noahides around the world to flock to.free from violent insurgencies. There is sometimes hate for government policies which has hurt the reputation of democracies be it Canada, Israel or even America but this shouldn't ever be confused with the spirit of good citizens. Radicals on any side of an issue shouod have less input in the trajectory and affairs of a.nation. Hamas should have released the prisoners and an Agreement between the two found long ago. Find peace, save lives and then prevent future wars where possible.

Could Kamala have brokered this deal? Everybody in the forum knows the answer. . Another big victory for this great president, Donald Trump.

Hamas unlikely to hand over all hostages within three days — senior Hamas member

3 Oct 2025 ~~

"The release of living hostages and the handover of dead bodies is unrealistic under the current circumstances," Moussa Abu Marzouk said
CAIRO, October 4. /TASS/. Palestine’s Hamas movement doubts that 72 hours will be enough for releasing all the living Israeli hostages and handing over all the bodies of the deceased to Israel, a member of the movement’s political bureau Moussa Abu Marzouk told Al Jazeera.
"The release of living hostages and the handover of dead bodies is unrealistic under the current circumstances," Al Jazeera quoted him as saying.
Abu Marzouk said Hamas will be ready to hand over its weapons to the future Palestinian government, which will govern the Gaza Strip. However, provisions regarding the deployment of a peacekeeping force in the enclave "require clarifications and further discussions."
The Hamas official said the movement "has agreed in principle to the main provisions of [US President Donald] Trump’s plan, but its implementation is yet to be discussed."
Earlier, Trump published the English-language response from Hamas to his proposals on Gaza. In it, the radicals say they are ready to release all Israeli hostages held in the enclave and to hand over the bodies of the deceased. The movement "affirms its readiness to immediately enter, through the mediators, into negotiations to discuss the details."

Commentary:
I believe that the leader(s) of Hamas are under false ideas.
There are no negotiations in the Trump offer. Surrender or face the consequences. of "All Hell".
