I always relate to the early Season 1 episode of “Lost “ where Sawyer & Kate & others were walking across a field of tall grass and a huge Polar Bear charged the group . Sawyer stood his ground in front of the Group and methodically aimed and mag dumped the huge Animal now in a full charge and closing distance rapidly . Around the 6th Round Sawyer was starting to realize it was not slowing the beast . Shots 10 + were shown with a closeup of the Beast not slowing followed by a glimpse of Sawyer starting to look concerned ( a little) as the last round locked back the slide in sawyer’s hand the beast skidded to a stop in the grass at his feet dead .

Yes, I'd like to know too. Ideally a shotgun is preferred against these kinds of animals, so what kind of handgun did he have? revolver? .44 mag? 9mm?

People I knew back in the day who had to work in grizzly and brown bear country carried rifles with stopping power.
