50 years is a long time. 1850, what was the primary means of transportation, and how long did it take to go from coast to coast? How many people were there on the West Coast. 1900, what was the primary means of transportation, and how long did it take to go from coast to coast. 1950, same question, and for 2000, same question. Sounds like a pipe dream, but, 50 years ago, so did the present state of communication.

You're 100% right...I sure do wish the government would back these plans as Musk sure does have the skills, dreams and wiliness to pull some of this off.
