I read laughably this morning how Temu is going to have to raise its prices. I bought one item from temu, a socket wrench set. I forgot how much I paid for it but it wasn't much. It was the worst kind of garbage I've ever seen pretending to be a tool set. I put some of the bits on on a Rockwell hardness tester... Between 38 and 44.

In other words complete shit. They probably add oatmeal to the molten metal over there to expand it.

Tried the fit against some stainless steel hex bolts and as I suspected the measurements were way off.

I didn't need a persuader to bust the spring on the ratchet drive but I'll admit my intention was to break it.

My 30-year-old snap-on which was not manufactured in China won't break even with a 4-ft persuader on it. Snap-on is now made in China by the way.

This morning I drove downtown on my way to work because I was taking a detour and under the Green Street bridge was the typical lineup of wiped out drug addicts sleeping on the sidewalk. I couldn't help but think of the parallel between them and the average American consumer addicted to cheap Chinese crap.

"Addicted". People buy what is for sale. If all there is, is Chinese stuff, that is what you buy.

What told me that I would never buy from Temu was, when I searched a certain business by name, accustomed to that business popping up first in the list of hits, Temu would come up first because they happened to sell a few items similar to those offered by the business I was searching.

Nope.

I love my country way more than I like cheap Chinese crap.
