I didn't put his state, for the simple reason that this shutdown has shown us that Party is everything for "our representatives." For better or worse.

McCarthy calls this "the Seinfeld Shutdown," because it is about nothing.

He believes that Trump is in complete control of the Republicans and the shutdown will last as long as he wants it to. Conversely, he believes that the real reason for the shutdown is to run out the clock to give Trump less time to govern.

Maybe?

He believes that the stated reason: Extending the ACA COVID Supplement, will be solved by the Republicans agreeing to an extension but with restrictions.

I doubt that.

The COVID Supplement is only one of three major demand with Medicaid for illegals (given "legal status" by the autopen), and half a billion for the CPB. In my opinion, the Medicaid for unlawful border crossers is the key for Democrats who are finding more and more ways to allow them to vote.

Even the most obtuse observers have realized that the shutdown is nothing but a political ploy by the Democrats. Clean CR has been rejected. That pretty much seals it.
