It's interesting how they just bunch together a bunch of executions, always secrecy in terms of the evidence and details. Also ironic how they suggest these laws decrease the drug issue when clearly it hasn't been a deterrent for the Chinese when they move the chemicals all the way across the ocean and ship it to Mexico, Canada and other countries.

It's an issue I disagree with Trump on as well, outside of dealers knowing they are selling products that are spiked or in high dose that the person could OD. Considering they want return customers, one has to believe this is state-sponsored murder.

THIS is a reason not to visit a country. When a government abuses your right you could end up being executed by them with what could be them playing geo-politics as they are currently having disagreements with Canada.

OTTAWA - Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly says China executed four Canadians in recent months.
China’s embassy in Ottawa confirmed Wednesday that Beijing executed Canadian citizens earlier this year.

The embassy says China has solid and sufficient evidence and the facts of the crimes committed by the Canadians are clear.

Ottawa confirms the Canadians executed did not include Abbotsford, B.C. native Robert Lloyd Schellenberg, who was sentenced to death for drug smuggling by a Chinese court in 2019.

Joly says the families have asked the government not to provide any details of the identity of the four individuals.
She says this is an issue she has been “personally” following for months and that both she and former prime minister Justin Trudeau asked China for leniency in all of the cases.

Well, that's alarming.

I hope that the people executed were actually drug dealers and not innocent victims of a shit regime.

Yeah, the mutherfukkers flood our country with Fentanyl precursors to kill off hundreds of thousands but they have ZERO TOLERANCE for drugs in their country.

Why should CHINA give a shit about the USA??? The USA doesn't give a shit about China either, whilst constantly trying to initiate a war with Taiwan via insinuating Chinese aggression.

Furthermore this article is about Canada
And:
Beijing has “zero tolerance” for drug crime.

The minister said all four were “dual citizens” and were all “facing charges linked to criminal activities according to China, linked to drugs.” - so China gets rid of Chinese Fentanyl dealers - and MAGA dolts are whining :auiqs.jpg:

Fentanyl precursors have numerous legitimate uses and are legal.

China has made efforts to control who buys them.

But any American who wants to whine about Fentanyl, needs to look up "Opium Wars" to realize how silly they sound.

You seem to have overlooked that.

Not surprising that China Joe showed up to defend the Evil Empire CCP.

Oh, I'm always amused when Snidley Whiplash (AKA Shocked Canadian) comes here with one of his "Chinaman hiding under my bed" stories.

They don't give the names of these four "Canadians", but I'm guessing they will be names like "Chen" and "Wang".

Now, this is a discussion I've had with my wife when she showed me some news videos from China, where they are pretty open about executing drug dealers. I personally oppose the death penalty because it's arbitrary and racist as practiced in this country. (When was the last time we executed a rich person?) But she's fine with it. Drug dealers deserve death, that's kind of the general consensus in China. Given its history with opium addiction that was encouraged by the Western powers to weaken her, you can understand why.

I'm not so sure about that. China doesn't allow "duel citizenship". This is something my wife and I have discussed: if she becomes a US Citizen in two years, she will have to give up her Chinese citizenship.

Okay, let's address Snidley's original post.

Ah, more dishonesty from Snidley.

The precursor chemicals have legitimate uses. China has taken steps to control who can buy the precursor chemicals, but that doesn't stop them from getting to the bad actors. And, gee, sometimes these bad actors screw up and make bad batches because they are too high or too incompetent to know any better. Imagine that. But, no, no, let's blame China for problems we refuse to control.

That said, lots of blame to go around for the Opioid crisis. I'd start with Big Pharma handing out Oxycotin like it was Halloween candy. Or the failure of local and state governments to provide adequate rehab programs.

THIS is a reason not to visit a country. When a government abuses your right you could end up being executed by them with what could be them playing geo-politics as they are currently having disagreements with Canada.

Or you could take the crazy approach of not dealing drugs in a country with a state no-drug policy. Yes, China executes drug dealers. So does Singapore. So does Malaysia. So does the Philippines. You know, the country wingnuts want us to go to war for over some crappy little islands.

Did Trump also tell you how the USA, France and the UK, ENFORCED drug trade and addiction in China - during the so called Opium Wars???
There's no question that China has some legitimate historical grievances not only against the United States but also against other European nations and Japan. I don't know how much relevance they have in the current world geo-politico ambience. You are correct in assuming a certain amount of cultural animosity born of a historically based indignant anger towards the type of exploitation that China did suffer for many centuries.

What a former generation experienced shouldn't be the impetus to persecuting another generation of citizens. You can remember and learn from the history, but you can't live in this history.

They seem far too willing to execute Canadians in particular which has to be very unsettling for Canadian authorities. Nations don't respect us as they once did, this much is clear.

Depends on the individual issue by those "hiding" a dual citizenship.
I know one in Germany, one in the USA and two in Australia - who practice this due to not wanting to forfeit their property benefits in China.

My daughter needs to decide upon her 16th birthday, let's see if China will amend this issue by then. (after all they need females) :)

I suspect that the article wasn't correct in regards to "dual-citizens" - most likely they held Canadian Resident-Permits.

But it isn't forgotten either. See Germans/Germany having to face & pay for this Nazi shit until today.

Nothing to do with Canada - one who gets caught or deals with drugs in China - faces the law.
Same applied to these Canadian and German embassy staff idiots - who got caught with Marijuana, coming back from Thailand.

It only comes up the moment, these former suppressors or war-criminals - try to lecture China whilst trying to use occurrences in China to destabilize the country. Japan is one of these and therefore also gets regularly bashed by South and North-Korea.
