There's a wonderful video of John and his band at The North Sea Jazz Festival from 2012 on YouTube. If you're a fan of his music definitely check this out. John is probably best known for his song "Thing Called Love" which was covered by Bonnie Raitt and the song "Sure As I'm Sittin' Here" which was covered by Three Dog Night.

Others I'm most familiar with "Old School", "Lincoln Town", "Back on the Corner".
His style reminds me of John Prine.
