Flysky is the newest drug craze

"Flysky" is a dangerous street drug currently spreading in parts of the U.S., especially around Pittsburgh and Fayette County. It’s typically heroin laced with medetomidine, a powerful veterinary tranquilizer not approved for human use.

Immediate Effects:
  • Extreme sedation or unconsciousness
  • Respiratory depression
  • Unresponsiveness to Narcan (naloxone) — unlike opioids, medetomidine doesn’t respond to standard overdose reversal treatments
🆘 What to Do in Case of Exposure or Overdose:
  • Call emergency services immediately (911) — time is critical
  • Do NOT rely solely on Narcan — it may not work if medetomidine is involved
  • Keep the person awake and breathing if possible
  • Provide first responders with any info about the substance taken
Authorities are urging people to turn in any bags labeled “flysky” to local police or Crime Stoppers anonymously. If you’re in an area where this drug is circulating, it’s vital to stay informed and help spread awareness.
