Imagine if he is pardoned?
This ain't Canada. Presidents cannot pardon local or state crimes, only Federal Crimes. Florida is rightfully charging the guy, no matter what the Fed Government does, now or in the future.Imagine if he is pardoned?
He can be pardoned for the federal crime of attempted murder of a presidential candidate though, right?
When charged in Federal court, but only the Governor of Florida could possibly pardon, on the state charges, and that is not likely, nor should it be. It is not even double jeopardy to be charged in state and Federal crimes. That guy will get long jail term, as he should, in one place or another or probably both.
I do not know, to what extent, they are or are not, other than X posts. My first impulse is the Feds often don't share willingly, down stream or even with other Federal enforcement, security, or intelligence agencies, as a tribal rule. Remember? This is how we got the Department of Homeland defense after 911, because none of the Federal Agencies work or play well with others, that and to have an armed agency for internal use, not under military or existing LE control, that can be used on Executive Authority alone, with less likelihood of bumping up against constitutional restraints. In my opinion, arming and training them is why ammunition got so expensive, as they got first crack at it.
