The British government reneged on the Mandate (Syria they had no problems with, one wonders why) and began to read to the Arab riots by giving away 77% of the Land to newly arrived Arabs from Arabia. They allowed those Hashemites to attack and expel all Jewish residents from TransJordan.

With Arab riots, instead of protecting the Jews, they allowed the riots to go on. Then they reneged on how many Jews could immigrate to the Mandate.

Then they expelled all Jews from Hebron after the Jews were the ones attacked and many murdered, making Hebron for the first time of its Jewish History, ethnically cleansed of Jews, until 1967.
