Niece is getting married to a hispanic hombre. Brushing up on my Spanish to greet the fellow. I can say "hey ese, wassup holmes" like a native speaker.

In any event, its 8 hours on I79 and I77 through the heart of Appalachia. Does anyone know any biker joints or other interesting places in between? I know enough to be weary if I hear banjos playing, the local LGBTQ+ population likes that instrument from my understanding.

Im more familiar with routes going south of Charlotte, to the beach, etc.

There is a stretch of I79where you get diverted to US19 in West Virginia. It's not a bad stretch of road, except for a slew of stoplights in a few spots, but beware of Summerville, the worst speed trap in the State. Speed limit goes up and down without notice, and the cops hide out near the slower speed limit signs.

It was a mind-bending trip, needless to say. The trip includes a stretch where the traveler is forced to go both North and South simultaneously at the same time. When going south on I-77, its required that you go north on I-81 at the very same time. Like entering through the vortex of the universe, when going through the Commonwealth of Virginia.
