“Republicans ought to nationalize the voting”: Trump eyes radical power-grab
Those concerned about democracy don’t have the luxury of simply shrugging with indifference to the president’s latest conspiratorial nonsense.
We know that Trump is facing a total repudiation by the voters in the November mid-terms. To put it in language even MAGA can understand, he is facing a third impeachment, and he knows it. He wants to nationalize elections in 15 states, blue probably, so that he can put in place rules that would prevent just about anybody except Republicans from voting. Funny thing is that even if he did that, with his poll numbers, he could still lose.
The Constitution of the United States gives the administration of voting to the states, not the federal government. Well, we know that Trump feels that he as president has the right to override any part of the Constitution that he doesn't like, which is most of it.
So Democrats, please don't be wishy washy about this. Trump is going to try something to derail the mid-terms; he has to. I think that he will try to convince one of his red states, one with low intelligence such as Texas, to try this, in other words, to pass a law giving their election responsibilities to the federal government. With the SCOTUS in Trump's pocket, anything is possible!
Let's take this seriously Democrats. A madman in charge, with the ghost of Epstein chasing him, is capable of anything!
Bigly!!!
