A federal appeals court has allowed the Donald Trump administration to continue deporting immigrants in the U.S. illegally to third countries while a legal challenge to the policy moves forward.
In an order issued Wednesday, the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit granted an administrative stay of a lower court ruling that had blocked the deportation practice. This prevents the district court’s decision from taking effect while the appellate court considers whether to extend the pause during the appeal.
